Welcoming remarks by Interim President John Gerner included encouraging folks to sign in and provide their email address if they wished to receive UHCA communications. John explained the purpose of the meeting as an effort to develop a simple and less time/effort consuming approach to sustaining the UHCA’s community’s voice.
He then introduced a document “One Possible Organizational Model for UHCA” which he and Mary Field had written based on input from other community organizations. The contents of the document were discussed. Suggestions regarding changes, refinements, etc. were voiced and are reflected in the revised version. Click here for the Current Organization Model.

Union Hill Civic Association Meeting December 6, 2017
The Union Hill Civic Association met on December 6, 2017 at the Tricycle Garden Headquarters. The Officers and 22 members were present. John Gerner opened the meeting at 6:30 with a welcome to the members and guests.
Introductions included: Adam Zimerli, the new Manager of the 25th Street Library, who introduced himself and encouraged folks to become engaged in the activities at the Library. John Johnson also briefed the group on the upcoming Church Hill Association Holiday Festival which consists of the “Candlelight Walk” and the “Annual Historic House Tour” on the weekend of December 9-11. Bill Conkle, President of the Friends of Jefferson Park (FOJP), was unable to stay for the meeting but shared his intent to be in contact with the Sector’s new police officer, Lt. Roane, in regards to the issues at Jefferson Park. He also indicated that FOJP are continuing to work with Park and Recreation Department to address ongoing park mainte…

808 North 21st Street - Amend previously approved plans to change materials on new construction.
2207 Venable Street - Rehabilitate home and construct two story rear addition.
2112 Venable Street - Rehabilitate home and construct two story rear addition.
533 Mosby Street - Modify approved plans for a new garage.
2200 -2202 M Street - Construct a new duplex.
820 North 23rd Street - Construct a new single family home.
